The shards of discordant noise that made them so interesting when they first ripped through has been replaced, after another overlong absence, with a deeper, hollower noise - been listening to your old Joy Division albums chaps (and any best on Love Will Tear Us Apart doing the Hottest One Hundred Of All Time topping, young folk?). The JAMC pull themselves out of the full revivalist hole with a more modern throb to it, but the overall result is listening to a good band who could be anybody rather than the something individually special that they were. And an acoustic ballad? No, don't do that again, please.
