The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced new gigs and festival dates for 2008 in the USA, Argentina and Brazil on top of the previously announced Japanese festival dates. The upcoming dates are:

17 July - Portland, OR @ Wonder Ballroom
19 July - San Francisco, CA @ Download Festival 2008
20 July - Los Angeles, CA @ Download Festival 2008

Japan
9 + 10 August - Osaka and Mihama-ku, Chiba (near Tokyo) for Summer Sonic festival Festival

Argentina
31 October - Buenos Aires @ Club Ciudad of Buenos Aires

Brazil
8 November - Sau Paulo @ Planeta Terra Festival

The Summer Sonic festival web site has announced that the Jesus and Mary Chain are playing the Summer Sonic festival on the weekend of August 9-10, 2008. The two day festival is held in Osaka and Mihama-ku, Chiba (near Tokyo).
